Funds in Node Decreasing

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

It's possible that the amount of BTC you see available is decreasing is due to the on-chain network fees that are paid each time a channel is opened or closed.

When a channel is opened, a mining fee is paid, since this is on-chain.

Transactions made through the channel when it's open have very small (off-chain) fees.

When a channel is closed, the BTC amount is settled back on the Bitcoin network main chain. There is a fee for that as well.

Opening and closing multiple channels, therefore, can decrease your total amount of available BTC.

If you have autopilot enabled in your Node's settings, you may consider disabling that and opening channels manually. This may give you greater control over the fees that you pay.

Hope that makes sense. Let us know if you have any further questions.
