The Casa Wallet is a simple, lightweight wallet secured by one key.
Different than our multisig setup, you don't need multiple keys to send funds using the Casa Wallet. The Casa Wallet allows you to sign and send transactions using just your mobile device.
The Casa Wallet makes storing a key on your mobile device (and backing it up) simple, safe, and easy, and is available for all membership levels.
"How is it backed up?"
The key for the Casa Wallet is stored within the secure enclave of your phone, and backed up to your phone's default cloud service. No need to write down a seed phrase!
If you're using an iPhone, the wallet's key is backed up to Apple. If you're using an Android phone, the key is backed up to Google.
In order for the Casa Wallet to be automatically backed up, you need to be signed into Apple (if you're using an iPhone) or Google (if you're using an Android phone) in the system settings of your phone.
At no point does Casa ever have access to your key, and since the backup is encrypted, your cloud storage provider can't access your key, either.
"What if I get a new phone?"
If you get a new phone, and want to restore your key in the Casa Wallet, simply log into the Casa App on your new phone, and restore the key from backup. As long as you're signed into the same Apple or Google account on the new phone as when you first set up the key, you're good to go.
"How do I set it up?"
To setup your key in the Casa Wallet:
1. Tap "Single Key" from the main window in the Casa App.
2. Tap "Regenerate Device Key" or "Generate Device Key" to create the Single Key in the app
3. Authenticate your request if prompted
After generating the key, it's recommend do to a health check on the key to verify that it's properly backed up in your phone's cloud service provider.
