What you need to know for ethereum support

It’s here!

Casa launched support for ethereum on June 21st, 2023.

Here's what you need to know:

Pricing and membership changes

If you’re an existing Casa member, you don’t need to upgrade your membership or pay any extra membership fees in order to store ethereum with Casa. Ethereum support is included in your current membership price.

New membership plan names launched alongside ethereum support. Gold is now Standard, Platinum is now Premium, and Diamond is now Private Client.

Membership plan prices have also changed, but all Casa members who signed up prior to 06/21/2023 will remain at their same membership price.

If you upgraded your membership to a higher level before our June 21st launch, you're locked into the current (lower) membership price. Any membership upgrades you make from now on will be at the new (higher) price. Also, if your membership ever lapses, and you later decide to renew, you will renew at the new (higher) price.

Hardware devices

Hardware device support for ethereum is currently limited to Trezor and Ledger devices only. If you plan to create an ethereum vault with Casa, you must use those supported devices.

If you are using a Trezor or Ledger device as a signing key(s) in your bitcoin vault, you can use the same device as a signing key(s) for your ethereum vault. You may also choose to secure your bitcoin and ethereum vaults with completely different hardware keys.

Setting it up

Setting up your ethereum vault takes just a couple of minutes, and once it’s set up, you can deposit your ETH any time. If you want to get started storing your ETH with Casa right away, you can send your ETH from wherever it currently is, to the ETH deposit address you see for your vault in your Casa app.

See: Setting up your 3-key vault for ethereum (ETH) and/or Setting up your 5-key vault for ethereum (ETH)

Note that we don’t yet offer support for ERC-20 tokens or other assets on the ethereum blockchain. Only the asset “ether” (ETH) is supported. Do not send tokens or other assets to your Casa ethereum vault.

Do I have to use ethereum?

Using ethereum with Casa is completely optional. If you only own bitcoin and don’t want to set up an ethereum vault, you don’t have to. Nothing about your bitcoin security will change.

Casa is excited to continue offering the same world-class experience for your ethereum security that Casa customers have come to expect for their bitcoin security, and we’re here to offer the same great level of support.

Feel free to contact us with any issues or questions you may have regarding the support of ethereum on Casa.
